The R-10 Household Droid is a household service droid that was designed by the careful craftsmen of Lovolan, and the unit was deisgned to be an unobtrusive party waiter and drink server for the obnoxiously rich.

Most of the time the R-10 goes unoticed even though it has a jewel-enrusted design is a testament to both its quiet efficiency and to the ostentatious surroundings in which it usally operates. The first of Lovolan`s R-10`s were produced at the request of Emperor Palpatine for use in glittering pleasure palaces of the resort moon Hesperidium in the Coruscant System.

These squat automations were decorated with antique brass fittings, green bronze plating, polished greel-wood panels, and inset corusca gems (imitation gems). With this design these droids fit perfectly into Hesperidium`s elaborate fantasy enviorment of zero-gee fountains and singing warbleflowers, but some found the superfluous stylings to be over-the-top.

Lovolan then followed up the Hesperidium model with a more subdued unit that was designed for the affluent consumer, which was done in a tasteful black marble with a decorative brass rail, which helped make the newer R-10 meet with success among the wealthy, in particulary with the aristocrats in the Senex and Tapani sectors.

All of the R-10 models move about on four wheels and have a ventral droid-brain package that perceives the area in front of it through its single photoreceptor. Upon the units purchase it is programmed with the compete blueprints of its owner`s mansion or villa, especially the locations of the kitchen, pantry, dining room, and the wine cellar. The R-10 does lack a vocabulator to make it capable of speaking but it does understand verbal commands. The droids marble serving tray sits at 0.72 meters off the ground which is a perfect height for guests to caually pick up a frosted glass.

The units tray is also electrically charged which helps to prevent spillage of the glasses and if needed the droid has additional trays that swing up from its sides. The unit also has retractable manipulator arms that come out of the front and rear compartments, and each of its hands has two fingers and a padded velvet palm. There is also a brush-tipped cleaning arm and vacuum hose that remains hidden behind forward compartments untill its needed. The units also come with a programming matrix that makes it nearly impossible for the unit to mistakenly spill a bottle or drop a goblet.
