A Robo-Hack is a taxi that is guided by a simple droid brain through crowded metropolitan streets and freeways. The idea behind the Robo-Hack is a simple one what you do is take a droids brain and install it in a vehicle and the result is a creation that is more effcient than an organic driver, and they are also usally cheaper to run too.

The standard Go-Corp/Utilitech Metrocab is an enclosed landspeeder that is about six meters in length, and the cabs accommodations are few, most of the time they only have a back seat for one to four passengers, a pair of scratchy speakers playing a local music broadcast, and a snuff-pot for stubbing out used cigarras. When a passenger enters the cab they announce there destination to a large auditory sensor embeded in the front wall, and if the droid needs additional clarification it asks the questions through an adjacent vocoder.

When the taxi arrives at the destination the passenger will pay by inserting a credit voucher into the data port or by feeding the local currency into a change slot, and if a passenger tries to exit without paying the fee, most of the droids will close and lock both doors and then will speed off to the nearest police station. Beyond the cabin divider is the sealed foward compartment where the droid`s congnitive module and primary performance circuitry are.

All of the Robo-Hacks are equipped with complete maps of the local streets as well as a Central Learning Chip (CLC) that allow them to learn shortcuts based on the units past experience. Some of the droids become canny and routinely defraud ignorant tourists by taking them the longest routes and therefore the most expensive routes. On many planets Robo-Hacks are allowed access to the municipal traffic controller network for up-to-date informationoon weather conditions, vehicle accidents, and other roadway problems. The banks of sensors above the two foward headlights provide situational tracking data for high-speed lane changing, and a panoramic optical sensor in the back acts as a rear view mirror.
